About The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacist works within an inter-professional and collaborative team to deliver holistic, comprehensive healthcare services in a patient-centered environment. The Pharmacist has accountability and responsibility for the procurement and dispensing of medications, as well as their safe and effective use by patients, the prevention of disease and the promotion of health and wellness and independent prescribing within collaborative practices. The Pharmacist provides information about the optimal use of medications and promotes the cost-effectiveness of medications through evidence-based decision making. Further, pharmacists contribute to the knowledge base of drug information by partaking in practice-based research initiatives, and promoting evidence-based practice or services through drug use evaluation.
The Pharmacist ensures that the principles and practices that guide Nova Scotia Health such as the vision, mission, values, expected behaviors, the leadership philosophy, organizational health, population health, ethics, safety, quality, partnerships, and inter-professional collaboration are integrated within the support that is provided by the work that they do and through the messages they deliver.

Compensation and Incentives: $43.67 - $53.24 Hourly
