Job Title: Physician or Nurse Practitioner for longitudinal family practice with a focus on cancer care. We are currently seeking a dedicated Family Doctor or NP to join our team at the Vancouver Family Practice Centre . This is a permanent position in our outpatient facility, providing comprehensive healthcare services to a panel of cancer survivors that were referred by BCCAN to us for their primary care. This panel has been expertly managed by NPs up until recently when BCCAN ended their program. All patients also have an oncologist if they are in active treatment for their cancer, but many are on surveillance and management of long-term effects. It is a nice mix of complexity in this panel. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a patient volume of approximately 325 patients, served with a combination of in person and remote visits over 3 sessions a week, plus 2 days of inbox management. This is entirely negotiable. We can tailor to your needs. Our sessions include 3 hours of appointments booked every 15-30 minutes plus approximately an hour of non clinical time. Light after hours phone call duties are shared on a roster with 10 other doctors, to meet the CPSBC requirements, ensuring that our patients receive the highest level of care at all times. The compensation for this position is based on a Blended Capitation model called PBF (similar to FHO, FHN, FHT, etc.). We have been on this model for over 25 years, and love it. We just received a 59% rate increase to keep funding parity with the new LFP model in BC. No time-keeping, no hamster wheel to fit in the most patients you can in a day, and the ability to provide service however you see fit. If you want group visits, 1:1, use of allied health, this funding model can do it all without sacrificing income. Work the way you want. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. Manage a patient volume of approximately 325, ensuring that each patient receives personalized and effective care, collaborating with their oncology team as needed. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide a patieint-centred approach to patient care. Stay updated on the latest medical research and apply this knowledge to patient care. Requirements: Current license to practice medicine in the province of British Columbia. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients and colleagues. Commitment to providing high-quality care and improving patient outcomes. We are conveniently located near the sky train and bike paths, plus there is ample underground pay parking available at City Square. We have a team of 12 doctors, a psychiatrist as well as medical students and residents. We have a large, bright, recently renovated clinic, supported by a team of attentive MOAs. Our manager is top-notch, and our owners are also medical directors and have their own practices as well. We have a collegial group with a central charting room, a great staff room, and a signal chat for quick questions or support. We love to teach so there are plenty of opportunities to be involved in medical education. We have a stable long-term group and we love working here and would like you to consider joining us!
