3 ½ Month FHO-FHT Locum Opportunity in a 3 Member Group Practice

A member of a 3-physician group practice on the Hamilton Mountain is seeking a locum to cover her practice for 3 days per week from mid September 2024 to January 2025. With just under 1,100 rostered (and ~139 additional un-rostered) patients, the successful locum candidate can expect to see between 20-25 patients per day.

The locum will see patients for 3 days during the week, with appointments currently booked from Monday to Friday from 9:15am to 4pm (coverage on Tuesdays is required). As part of a large 22 member FHO, the locum will also be required to provide on-call coverage to the FHO for approximately 4 weekday evenings and 1 weekend throughout the assignment.

As part of the Hamilton Family Health Team, the successful locum candidate will have the opportunity to practice team-based care alongside a variety of allied health professionals including a mental health counsellor (2 days per week), a dietician (2 days per week), a clinical pharmacist (1 day per week), a system navigator (1 day per week), a respiratory nurse (1 day per week), and a HFHT psychiatrist who is located in the same building and is available for consults. The practice is also in the process of hiring a Registered Practical Nurse and plans to have this support in place by the start of the assignment. The practice also receives administrative support from 2 experienced admin staff including an office manager and a front office staff.

The practice uses Telus PS EMR and the locum will have access to 1-3 exam rooms depending on the day and a shared office (with a private workstation). This large and newly renovated space also includes a pharmacy downstairs, nursing stations, a lunchroom and meeting area, and free parking for both staff and patients.

The practice will provide the locum with a competitive stipend for their work.
