Description
As an LPN, are you tired of the stress that comes from the heavy workload of a Nursing Care facility? Would you like a slower pace in a setting where you work 1:1 with people long-term? If you answered YES to these questions, then we may be what you are looking for.
The Arc of Litchfield County Inc., (LARC), is rapidly growing with exciting opportunities for exceptional nursing professionals who are ready to join an expanding team. We are looking for compassionate, experienced Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN).
We run day and residential supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). We offera relaxed and casual work environmentwhich occupies a unique niche away from typical nursing opportunities.
In addition to nursing duties, our LPNs get to go out into the community with the people we support to have FUN! Picnics, movies, bowling, dining out and many other such activities are all part of our vision of "community for all". You will work 1:1, or in very small groups, with the people we support, forming long-term relationships and helping them to live an enriched life!
LARC offers a competitive benefits package including:
+ medical, dental, vision, 401K, and more,
+ Paid sick time, earned leave and
+ nine paid holidays through-out the year.
The LPN will deliver care to person(s) with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities in a home environment and be an important member of the team working and developing relationships with person(s) served, their family members, guardians, and support team.
Requirements and Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
+ Providing exceptional nursing care and oversight by implementing health care plans including charting vital signs and administering medications as prescribed and directed by primary/specialty physician.
+ Assist with daily maintenance, personal care, and other services of support as outlined in the Individual Support Plan (ISP) while maintaining individual records and files.
+ Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a respectful, caring, tolerant, ethical, and empowering relationship with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
+ Capacity to assist individuals with physical disabilities and/or limited mobility.
Position Requirements:
+ Must possess a current, active license to practice as an LPN in Connecticut.
+ Must possess a current and valid CT Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
+ Must provide documentation of the eligibility to work in the United States.
+ Must obtain and maintain CPR & First Aid certification (training provided).
We would prefer someone with experience in, and a working knowledge of, State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services nursing policies and procedures. However, this is not a deal breaker. We will provide paid, on the job training, as needed.
Why not finally be happy at your job? Check us out today!
