Family Medicine Physician (ED & Inpatient Care) - Didsbury

Alberta Health Services, Calgary Zone is actively recruiting a Family Medicine physician to join the Department of Rural Medicine to provide Emergency Department and Inpatient coverage at Didsbury District Health Services.

The position available includes scheduled ED night shifts 1800 - 0800 every eight days. The on-call physician is also responsible for providing after-hours (evenings/nights/weekends/stats) coverage for Acute Care and LTC units in the event that a patient requires urgent medical attention.

Inpatient coverage is Monday - Friday, three to six patients per day but will vary. Inpatient coverage responsibilities will be divided amongst three physicians.

Preference will be given to physicians who are practicing in the Didsbury area.

• CCFP certified
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current ATLS and PALS certification recommended
• Experience in rural ER environment an asset
• Must obtain and maintain an appointment with the Department of Rural Medicine, Calgary Zone with appropriate clinical privileges
• The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
• Must read, write and speak English
