The Duke Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Harris & Smith OB/Gyn in Durham, NC is seeking an Obstetrics and Gynecology Generalist for an open rank faculty position. Experienced and recently trained practitioners dedicated to providing compassionate patient care in a community-based setting should apply.
Duke Obstetrics and Gynecology is comprised of ten clinical divisions, over 100 faculty members, 37 residents, 16 sub-specialty fellows, more than 40 advanced practice providers and 200 rotating medical students and physician assistant program students. The department is a multidisciplinary academic department dedicated to advancing the care of women through research, education, and clinical patient care. We are at the forefront of women’s reproductive health care and making innovations to better our community, patients, trainees, faculty and health care as a whole.
Harris & Smith obstetricians and gynecologists provide reproductive care to patients of all ages, from the first visit with a gynecologist through family planning and menopause. Patients who come to this clinic for prenatal care deliver their babies at the Duke Regional Hospital. General OB/GYN services include low and high-risk obstetrics for prenatal care through delivery with referral, consultation, and co-management to Duke Maternal Fetal Medicine as appropriate. Also, gynecologic surgical services from in-office procedures to ambulatory and inpatient surgery.
In addition to General Obstetrics and Gynecology, all major subspecialties are represented in the Department including Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, and Community Health & Family Planning.
Candidates must have an MD/DO degree and have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency by the date of hire. Licensure by the North Carolina Medical Board will be required prior to commencement of employment. Rank, tenure status, and compensation are commensurate with training, experience and abilities.
