Four Generalists Positions
(Obstetricians and Gynecologists)

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is
requesting the recruitment of four Generalists (Obstetricians and Gynecologists) positions.

The duties and responsibilities will include their provision of services in the Obstetrics and Gynecology
Ambulatory Care Service, the Labor and Delivery Suite and in the Operating Room. In the Ambulatory
Care Service, the physician will be accountable for the provision of services to our obstetrical and
gynecological patients.

Additionally, on a monthly basis, the physician will be required to provide two sixteen weekly hourly on-call sessions and one twenty-four-hour weekend on-call session. During the physicians’ tour of duty, they will be accountable for properly supervising the Residents in the Labor and Delivery Suite and for
providing the supportive documentation in the patients’ medical records.

Academically, the physician will be required to participate in the Department’s lecture series, teaching
rounds, and provide other assigned tasks which will include lecturing to the Residents and medical
students in the Department.

From a research perspective, the physician will be accountable for being actively involved in the
research initiatives in the Department.


Salary: Commensurate with experience
