Our client is seeking an FRCP-trained Anaesthetist to join our team of congenial and skilled Anesthesiologists in a highly desirable community!
The Anesthesiologists provide services for General Surgery, Endoscopy, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Psychiatry and Dental Surgery. Practice possibilities include work in a closed ICU.
The Anaesthesiology group covers the Operating Rooms, obstetrical services, inpatient acute pain, and preoperative work. About 10,000 surgical procedures are carried out each year. Births are annually between 1400 – 1500.
The six operating rooms and pre- and post-surgical care areas at the hospital were built in 2014. The operating rooms are large and are well-equipped with high-tech equipment.
The area is in south-eastern Ontario and in 2021, ranked as the fourth best place in Canada to live! In addition to the general hospital, there are three other smaller regional hospitals. The area includes some of the most diverse and beautiful countryside in Ontario. From the lakes to the wine country, picturesque towns, and beaches and proximity more urban alongside Lake Ontario. Almost every lifestyle interest can be found within the communities served. by Quinte The region offers low cost of living, excellent amenities, excellent schools as well as quality local theatre, shopping and restaurants and easy access to highway 401 corridor, and Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal are all easy driving distance.
Anesthesiologists have the opportunity to educate and mentor residents from Queen's University, with members usually holding a Queen’s University appointment.
Ideal candidates should have an interest in regional anaesthesia and acute pain management.
Candidates with FRCP-training and who hold or will be able to obtain an Ontario independent license with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario are preferred, however candidates with FP-A training may be considered.
Payment is fee-for-service with call stipend. A $75,000 incentive for a critically needed specialist with a five-year return of service maybe be offered.
The region has 1,800 staff members and 320 medical staff who provide a wide range of high quality health care services to a region of 160,000 residents. Care is provided through four hospitals – and includes four emergency departments, operating rooms at three sites, inpatient services (including acute medicine, intensive care, obstetrics, paediatrics, mental health, complex continuing care, rehabilitation and surgery), a rehabilitation day hospital, children's treatment centre, ambulatory care clinics, community mental health programs, and a range of diagnostic services.
