Responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively with patients’ physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure positive drug therapy outcomes
- Performing medication reviews and medication management services as per the provincial standards
- Applying full scope of practice as a clinical pharmacist in Newfoundland
- Patient counseling on selection and use of non-prescription medication
- Ensuring accurate pharmacotherapy
- Compounding prescribed pharmaceutical products
- Advising patients and health care professionals on the indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, drug interactions and dosage of medications
- Maintaining medication profiles of customers including registry of poisons and narcotic and controlled drugs
- Ensuring proper preparation, packaging, distribution and storage of vaccines, serums, biologicals and other drugs and pharmaceuticals
Requirements:
- Licensed and in good standing with the Newfoundland & Labrador Pharmacy Board
- Strong sense of professionalism
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Strong problem solving skills
- Superior patient and physician relation skills
- Injection Certification
- Excellent leadership and performance management skills an asset
- Additional accreditation such as a CDE or a Geriatric Pharmacist an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Compensation:
- $10,000.00 signing and retention bonus paid upon first day of work and is based upon 1 full year of service. Option available for a $20,000.00 signing bonus in return for a 2-year agreement
