This individual provides direct patient care as the Center's Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner according to established protocols, policies, procedures, and accepted standards of care. Functions within approved scope and credentials as approved by Beebe Medical Center credentialing committee. Follow established nursing standards, procedures, and practices, and gives specific patient care directions to nursing and other staff.
Partners with Attending to provide 24/7/365 medical and surgical management for critical-care service.
Critical-care duties include managing the comprehensive care of acutely and chronically critically ill or injured adult patients in collaboration with the intensivist physician on duty (or on-call).
Advanced skills of comprehensive airway management
Invasive procedures to include central lines, arterial lines, tube thoracostomy, dialysis catheters
Selection, implementation, management, and titration of vasoactive drugs, insulin infusions, sedation, and analgesia.
The above listed critical-care duties require that this position must be certified as an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP)
Other duties as assigned.
Completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program approved by the ANCC or AANP. Must hold current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Delaware, national board certification as an ANCP (ANCC or AANP), a Certificate of Authority by the Delaware Board of Nursing as a certified Nurse Practitioner Board of Nursing

Essential:* NP - Nurse Practitioner* BLS - Basic Life Saving certification* ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
Essential:* Master of Science in Nursing
