Overview:

This Level 2 regional referral centre serves a population of over 170,000 residents, offering a full range of specialty services through the Departments of Anaesthesia, Medical Imaging, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Oncology, Hospitalist Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Pathology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Surgery (ENT, General/Thoracic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology).

Another five hospitals located within the region also refer to their specialists.

Service Delivery:

The hospital is growing their Internal Medicine group and looking to add another full-time Gastroenterologist to their group. Hospital duties include Emergency Department consultations, service to the acute inpatient units including participation in the Department of Medicine on-call service (about 4 days/month), MRP and consulting care.

With 24-hour labs, excellent specialty back-up and comprehensive diagnostic imaging (CT, MRI, PACS capability), this regional centre is exceptionally well equipped. 

Qualifications:

Interested candidates will ideally hold applicable FRCPC designation and an independent license to practice in Ontario. Qualified training from other jurisdictions will also be considered for CPSO supervisory licensure.

In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.

Compensation:

Ministry of Health On-Call Coverage (HOCC) Program and Fee-for-Service Billings. Daily/weekly critical care stipend.
