Physician – UrologistCharles George VA Medical Center - Asheville, North Carolina.-Current staffing: 4 Mds, 2 PAs & 2 Residents
As a Staff Urologist, you will work directly with the Chief of Urology Service to provide the most effective delivery of urological care throughout the medical center. The staff Urologist provides a variety of services including pre-operative patient exam and assessment and performs all aspects of Adult Urological Surgery in the clinic and the operating room. Provides urology-related direct patient care in all functional areas of the OR, ICU, ward and clinic settings as needed, to include on-call coverage (one night per week, one weekend per month and some holidays). Provides critical care related direct care as a part of a multidisciplinary critical care team.
Highlights of this position include:- Potential starting base salary: $325,000 - $375,000
- Daily schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 am – 4:00pm
- Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery from any U.S. State
Additional requirements:- Board certified or board eligible
- Must be able to perform a variety of robotic urologic procedures (DaVinci Robot)

Malpractice Insurance VA physicians are covered under the Federal Tort Claims Act - 28 U.S.C. § 1346 and 28 U.S.C § 2671. Medical personnel have statutory immunity from "individual" malpractice liability while acting within the scope of employment; a VA physician cannot be sued in civil court for a malpractice (tort) claim.
