The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care through skillful assessment, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies, procedures, and/or protocols in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and the State of Delaware Board of Nursing Rules and Regulations.
The RN will function at the top of their license in areas of leadership, delegation, initial patient education, triage of patients, precepting new staff, mentorship, and behaving as a role model for other clinical team members. The RN functions as a liaison between clinical team members and leadership to develop office specific policies, procedures, and/or protocols to promote a safe working environment and efficient workflows.
Triages patients and uses clinical judgement to implement nursing interventions in a timely manner.
Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and the State of Delaware Board of Nursing Rules and Regulations.
Acts as a preceptor and mentor for other licensed and unlicensed clinical team members. Timely completion of assigned education and annual competencies.
Develops, implements, and evaluates an identified plan of care as appropriate. Prioritizes and coordinates care delivery and employs strategies to promote a safe environment.
Offers clear and concise instructions to patients regarding their health conditions, treatments, and medications, ensuring they understand and adhere to regimens prescribed by their healthcare provider.
Administers medications according to policy as needed. (IV push medications may only be administered by RNs per the Nurse Practice Act and the State of Delaware Board of Nursing Rules and Regulations)
Collects, thoroughly analyzes, and meticulously documents assessment data to ascertain actual or potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and establishes clear expected outcomes.
Recognizes unit needs and is a liaison between the clinical staff and leadership to assist in development and maintenance of office specific policies, procedures, and/or protocols that will promote safety and encourage efficient workflows.
Communicates and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice.
Utilizes appropriate resources to plan, provide, and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe, effective, and fiscally responsible.
Advocates for clients.
Actively assists others and accepts additional duties or assignments. Works in other BMG office locations and/or other shift times when needed.

Qualifications and experience:
Active State of Delaware LPN or RN license or compact state.
Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical experience as an RN, preferably in areas such as ER/Urgent Care, Adult, Pediatric, OB/GYN, Orthopedic, Ambulatory Care, Home Health, or ICU.
Previous telephone triage experience using electronic triage software and computerized medical protocols will be considered an asset.
Experience using the Barton/Schmitt/David Thompson guidelines will be considered an asset.
Knowledge and experience with EMR.
Addendum:
The Virtual Triage Nurse (VTN) will screen telephone calls from new and established BMG patients to obtain pertinent health information. Patient responses will then be applied to the appropriate standard triage guideline algorithm and can help direct the appropriate referral, level of care and or self-care advice needed by the patient. Calls received may vary greatly in subject matter and complexity. The VTN will report to the Patient Access & Referral Center (PARC) Manager. All patient interactions will be documented in Beebe's electronic medical record (EMR) promptly. The VTN accepts additional duties or assignments which may include assisting BMG offices with clinical inbox management. The VTN will work either in an individual BMG office or as a part of our PARC team and will maintain clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of clients served.
