Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for performing various medication management activities of the Pharmacy Department under the oversight of a Pharmacist. The position works collaboratively with the Clinical Pharmacists, and provides safe and effective drug distribution services to Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare patients.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician program- required
• Completion or in the process of registration with the College of Pharmacists of Ontario- required
• 1-2 years Pharmacy Technician experience preferred
• Hospital pharmacy experience is an asset
• Unit dose and/or IV additives experience is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all patients, staff and visitors
• Computer experience preferred
• Must be able to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development
• Willingness to participate in process improvement, to perform quality improvement audits and participate in all departmental initiatives.

• Must be able to work all shifts as required
• French Language proficiency is an asset
