Duties
We are seeking a skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our healthcare team. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will be responsible for providing pharmaceutical care to patients in a hospital setting. Your role will involve collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication therapy for patients.
- Reviewing patient medical records and medication orders to ensure appropriate therapy
- Providing drug information and counseling to patients and healthcare providers
- Monitoring patient responses to medication therapy and making recommendations for adjustments as needed
- Participating in interdisciplinary rounds and providing input on medication-related issues
- Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans
- Conducting medication reconciliation and identifying potential drug interactions or adverse effects
- Assisting in the development of hospital formulary and medication use policies
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives related to medication safety
Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Medication administration: Proficiency in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and safely.
- Acute care: Experience working in a fast-paced acute care setting, such as a hospital.
- Medical terminology: Strong knowledge of medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare professionals.
- Pediatrics: Familiarity with pediatric pharmacotherapy and dosage calculations.
- Patient care: Ability to provide patient-centered care and address individual patient needs.
- Hospital: Understanding of hospital pharmacy operations, including medication distribution systems and regulatory requirements.
YOU ARE THE IDEAL CANDIDATE IF YOU POSSESS:
- Pharmacy license to practice in Alberta.
- Experience in Kroll system and dispensing procedures
- Ability to maintain the optimum balance between the profession of pharmacy and business of pharmacy
- Strong financial acumen
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong customer/patient satisfaction orientation
- Strong leadership and decision making skills

Salary: $116,172.82-$145,600.66 per year
Flexible Language Requirement: English not required
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed
Supplemental pay types: Bonus pay, Overtime pay
Licence/Certification: Evaluating and Qualifying PEBC examinations (required)
