Job Summary: Responsible for the development, maintenance, and management of the RIS (Radiology Information System) across the Georgia region. Works closely with the KP Georgia Information Technology Dept and National KPIT to ensure that our system meets the demands and needs of internal customers and complies with National KPIT functionality and standards. Recommends improvements to processes and reporting capabilities. Acts as liaison between systems users and information technology groups (internal and external).
Essential Responsibilities: - Functions as the subject matter expert for all Epic Radiant requests for KPGA region.
- Consistently develops new Imaging codes, updates and changes current codes to meet Diagnostic Imaging business needs as well as billing compliance.
- Works with Imaging leadership to evaluate and assign priorities to all RIS projects and modifications.
- Works with regional SSD business partners, KPIT- Systems, Solutions and Deployment teams, DI leadership, and end users to manage and monitor system upgrades.
- Prepares requirement specifications for projects.
- Participates in business improvement project teams.
- Works with PM on various projects to meet build requirement deadlines.
- Monitors data quality and integrity.
- Takes ownership of the exam dictionary for GA region, maintain and work with stakeholders to optimize it for billing and business workflows.
- Works with Training team to ensure proper training for new Radiant functionality.
- Develops policies and procedures as they relate to RIS. Assists Radiology management in defining RIS system policies and procedures.
- Ensures adequacy and quality of process and procedure documentation.
- May lead cross-functional user groups in optimizing- the use of existing tools and reports.
- Demonstrative understanding of technical documentation.
- Works closely with PACS team to troubleshoot image transfer issues.
- Works with PTC and Operations to configure and manage scheduling templates.
Basic Qualifications: Experience - Minimum five (5) years of Diagnostic Imaging experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of Epic Radiant experience as an end user.
- Minimum three (3) years of Epic experience as a consultant/analyst (design, submit build requirements, test).
Education - Bachelors degree Computer Science or user-specific area, or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Computed Tomography OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Radiography OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Additional Requirements:- Completion of EPIC RADIANT Proficiency program.
- Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging operations to include: exam preparation, patient scheduling, workflow, procedures, and reporting policies.
- Strong working knowledge of Epic Radiant application.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Minimum six (6) years of Epic Radiant experience.
- EPIC Radiant Certification preferred.
- EPIC Radiant Proficient preferred.
- Masters degree in related field, Healthcare, Process Improvement or Clinical Quality.
