Clinician Teacher, Department of Family Medicine

The Department of Family Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, is inviting applications for one full-time clinical academic teaching position within an innovative and exciting Department of Family Medicine.
Candidates must hold an MD or equivalent with certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario. A relevant masters degree or interest in pursuing a Masters in clinical science (Family Medicine) or medical education is preferred. Clinical practice experience is preferred and experience and interest in teaching is essential. The successful candidate will be a Clinician Teacher and hold a full-time Limited Term Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, or a Continuing Clinical Academic appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor depending upon qualifications and experience at the time of appointment.
Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience and will be composed primarily of the following sources: clinical income from the Ontario Health Insurance Plan, alternate funding plan, and academic support.
The successful candidate will be expected to start on July 1, 2024, or as negotiated.
The position will be located at the Middlesex Centre Regional Medical Clinic in Ilderton. The clinic is located within a 20-minute drive from the London city limits and serves as core teaching site for the Department of Family Medicine Regional Program. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in a full spectrum comprehensive family practice including office-based care, care of the elderly, palliative care, hospital care, long-term care, and home visits. Intrapartum obstetrics care is desirable but not mandatory. Teaching and supervision of family medicine residents and medical students in the practice will be required. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage in scholarly activities suitable to an academic practice, such as administration, teaching innovation and research within the Medical School.
