Psychiatrists - Ontario - permanent, FT, PT or locum
Acute Care Psychiatric/Mental Health Services are provided at our clients Hospital as a Schedule One facility under the Mental Health Act. The mental health program includes inpatient, outpatient, transitional outpatient care, emergency services, consultations, and educational services to the community. In addition to the Schedule One services, our spectrum of care includes an Assertive Community Treatment Team, outpatient psychotherapy services and a Crisis Centre. Our Psychiatry team provides 24-hour call coverage.
Our client is seeking a psychiatrist who is prepared to work or cross-cover through the full range of our mental health services. We are a highly collegial, collaborative team committed to working together to meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve while maintaining a healthy, enjoyable work environment in which our psychiatrists continue to learn from and support each other. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Along with remuneration options to supplement fee for service billing, We offers excellent office support and opportunities for professional development and leadership. The department is attached to the Department of Psychiatry and Queens University as an Academic Unit and provides training to residents and students.
Candidates will require Royal College certification along with an independent license with the CPSO.
We have 1,800 staff members and 400 medical staff who provide a wide range of high quality health care services to a region of 160,000 residents. Care is provided through four regional hospitals and includes four emergency departments, operating rooms at three sites, inpatient services (including acute medicine, intensive care, obstetrics, paediatrics, mental health, complex continuing care, rehabilitation and surgery), a rehabilitation day hospital, children's treatment centre, ambulatory care clinics, community mental health programs, and a range of diagnostic services. We are located in south-eastern Ontario.
