Registered Dental Hygienist

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducting initial patient screenings
• Cleaning and helping protect patients teeth
• Providing advice on oral health and preventative care
• Educating patients of all ages on proper dental care
• Taking X-Rays (bitewing, panorex, periapical)
• Assisting dentist with selecting appropriate treatment plans
• Infection control and reprocessing of instruments
• Maintaining documentation and charts on each patient
• Record taking for treatment planning using digital intraoral scanner and photos

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to make patients feel calm and comfortable
• Outstanding communication skills and love engaging with patients
• Attention to detail, leave no tooth unturned
• Self-starter with excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to learn new techniques in digital dentistry and to utilize new technology to enhance patient care
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations of the profession
• A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment

Qualifications and Experience

• Registered Dental Hygienist license in good standing
• Dental hygienist experience is considered an asset, however new grads are welcome to apply
• Experience working with ClearDent is considered an asset
• Experience working with Cerec, Prime Scan, Prime Print, or other digital technology is considered an asset

Schedule: 8 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

Experience:

• Dental Hygienist: 2 years (preferred)
• Digital scanning, Cerec/Prime Print, Invisalign or SureSmile: 1 year (preferred)
• ClearDent: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification: Dental Hygienist License (required)

Work Location: In person
