Trillium Health Partners - Surgery Program
Trillium Health Partners (THP) is the largest community based academic health network in Ontario, serving over one million residents in the communities of Mississauga, Peel Region, and West Toronto. The hospital encompasses three main sites - Credit Valley Hospital (CVH), Mississauga Hospital (MH), and Queensway Health Centre (QHC) - offering a full range of acute care hospital services, as well as a variety of community-based specialized programs including the Peel Regional Cancer Centre.
Trillium Health Partners, Division of Urology, is seeking a General Urologist to join the division. The successful applicant will be based primarily out of the Credit Valley Hospital site and provide planned inpatient urologic care. In this role, the physician would join a dedicated team of fellow Urologic Surgeons and work closely with the interprofessional team to provide planned inpatient care for the community. The individual will be expected to participate in the Division of Urology's after-hours night and weekend on-call schedule.
THP is one of the largest providers of Urology care in Ontario where specialized care is provided in all domains. Although not a prerequisite, candidates with recognized fellowship training who bring specific expertise and focus to the program are preferred.
The organization is an affiliated academic teaching centre with the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will be appointed to an academic position within the Department of Surgery, University of Toronto, where there are expectations in participating in teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical learners, participate in quality improvement initiatives and also clinical and applied research work. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and a commitment to an inter-professional care model are also essential.
The role description for the successful applicant will include: providing acute unplanned urologic inpatient care to the community contributing to medical education, and assuming leadership roles within the organization.
Remuneration will be on a fee-for-service basis through billings submitted by the physician to Ontario Health Insurance Plan. The successful candidate will care for surgical inpatients and outpatients, and participate in the on-call rotation supporting Trillium Health Partners.
Applicants must hold an MD or equivalent with completed training in Urology and must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. This individual must have obtained the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Fellowship in Urology Surgery or equivalent.
