Neurologist – General Outpatient

As the county health network and Level-1 Trauma Center, JPS has been serving the residents of Tarrant County for over 100 years covering a 3.5+ million population. In addition to providing high-quality care, JPS is also an urban teaching hospital with a long history of training physicians and medical students. JPS offers 18 residency and fellowship programs, including the largest family medicine residency in the nation. JPS educates in tandem with the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Texas Christian University Medical School.
The Department of Internal Medicine is currently seeking Full-Time Outpatient Neurologists to join our team. The Department of Internal Medicine provides specialty services across the continuum of care at JPS. We currently have over 90 providers who work in a variety of different locations including the Main Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and our Community Medicine Clinics. Our specialties include; Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Pulmonology, Critical Care, Endocrinology, Infectious Disease, Dermatology and Rheumatology.

Required Education and Experience:
Current Medical Doctor (M.D) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) degree from an accredited school of medicine.
Residency training within Neurology and/or Fellowship training within a subspecialty.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be comfortable working in a large public/county facility
Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge in area assigned, and competency in assessment techniques, diagnosis and treatment processes that apply to the assigned medical specialty area
Must have good interpersonal, verbal and oral communication skills
Must be self-directed and take initiative to develop and participate in community activities and medical outreach
Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behavior
A commitment to medical education, including teaching and training medical and graduate students, house staff, and fellows
A commitment to lead and support efforts to enhance the climate of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects
