We serve more than 96,000 residents in over 1,600 seniors and other communities (long-term care homes, retirement homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes). We are a national organization with a large network of pharmacy fulfillment centres that allows us to deliver medications in a timely and cost-effective manner. We take an active role in working with our home operator partners to promote resident health, staff education, and medication system quality and efficiency.

Position Summary

As a Staff Pharmacist, you will report to the Pharmacy Management team. You will work alongside your professional team members and registered staff, directly supporting a group of LTC Homes and Retirement Communities.

The successful applicant will be assisting in maintenance and operations of the Pharmacy as described by the Pharmacy Standards of Practice and work as an integral part of a diverse team under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager.

Compensation: $49-$59/hour Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience for the role with CareRx.

Your Day To Day

  • Triaging orders and reviewing for drug therapy problems, therapeutic duplications, and other potential problems
  • Data entry (Kroll) in filling of new orders, reorders, medication reviews for Long Term Care and Assisted Living facilities
  • Performing final checks on prescriptions/ product checks
  • Answering questions on therapeutic inquiries from fellow health care professionals and facility staff
  • Collaborating with other health care professionals to ensure seamless patient care

What You Will Bring To The Team

  • Licensure with the BC College of Pharmacists
  • Experience in Long Term Care Pharmacy is a strong asset but not required
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
