Earning Potential: $320,000 - $485,000

Our client is looking for a full-time or part-time Psychiatrist to join their collegial, multi-disciplinary team within the provincial FACT program.

As a psychiatrist, you’ll closely collaborate with our Flexible Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) teams across the province, providing vital support to individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, often with concurrent issues. The FACT teams offer intensive, multidisciplinary case management, treatment, and outreach services in the community and include nurses, case managers, addiction specialists, peer support specialists, and other mental health professionals.

Your expertise in medication management and contributions to the development of comprehensive treatment plans will be essential for complex clients referred to the team. You’ll provide insights to guide treatment planning and support case management, particularly for individuals lacking consistent psychiatric support and those most vulnerable to functional decline.

HOURS OF WORK: 

• Typical business hours Monday–Friday with occasional after-hours work required.
• Positions require participation in the provincial Psychiatry on-call schedule.

REMUNERATION: Physicians have the option of choosing salary or fee-for-service payment modality.

• Fee for Service: As an incorporated, independent medical specialist you can expect an annual income in excess of $400,000.
• Salaried payment model: $327,000- $427,000. Includes 4 weeks paid vacation, paid sick leave, employer contributed pension plan, family dental plan, Rx drug plan, group life and dis-ability plans, subsidized professional fees, offices fees covered etc..

INCENTIVES:

• Return-in-Service Grant and Moving Expense Allowance are available.
• Qualified and licensable candidates may be eligible for a return in service grant of $100,000 with a 3 year (5,850 hour) commitment.
• Clinical teaching with the PEI Residency Training Program; faculty appointment at Dalhousie University may be available

• Electronic patient record system (hospital based) with access to lab and x-ray reports from the office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada eligibility or certification.
• Exceptional fully certified USA, RSA and UK candidates may be considered.
• Must be eligible for licensure with the provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons.
