Internist
The Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) is looking for a Locum Internist to join our medical team.
HGH is a family and patient-centred bilingual regional hospital. As the majority of the population we serve is francophone, fluency in both French and English is a requirement.
Our team of over 200 physicians and 800 employees is committed to delivering exceptional healthcare services and relies on teamwork, innovation, and leadership.
Number of positions: 1
Start date and schedules: flexible
Our team is currently composed of six Internists. The Locum Internist will work in the Ambulatory Care Clinics. Most of the work is done in person with a percentage that can be done virtually depending on personal preference.
There is also an opportunity to work in the Intensive Care Unit providing basic Level 2 basic care (non-invasive ventilation, High flow, BIPAP, CPAP), certain advanced Level 2 ICU care, such as arterial line monitoring and vasoactive/inotropic IV medications. Working in basic cardiac unit care as well as the Hospitalist Department are also options.
HGH Emergency Department receives over 55,000 visits per year. The hospital has 6-bed Intensive Care Unit, 38-bed Medicine-Surgery Unit and 18-bed Complex Continuing Care Unit.
In 2022, we completed a major redevelopment project that transformed our local community hospital into a full-service regional hospital thanks to a $200 million investment in infrastructure, medical equipment and cutting-edge technology.
HGH is a proud member of The Atlas Alliance, which has enabled us to adopt the Epic Health Information System and its electronic medical record (EMR), resulting in increased efficiency and patient safety. As a member of The Atlas Alliance, we maintain educational and working partnerships with The Ottawa Hospital and the Ottawa Heart Institute.
HGH is located in the town of Hawkesbury, Ontario, on the Ottawa River, providing the perfect work/life balance with beautiful scenery and all necessary amenities. If you are seeking a rural hospital that is easily commutable from the city, Hawkesbury is only an hour’s drive from both Montreal and Ottawa.
If you are a passionate medical professional looking to work in a supportive and vibrant environment, we encourage you to apply.
Please send your CV to Medical Affairs via email at physicianrecruitment@hgh.ca.
