Director of Nursing Quality and Magnet Program

Overview:
The Director of Nursing Quality and Magnet Program is responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight of nursing quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and leading the Magnet Recognition Program. This role will provide overall leadership and establish a framework to support the department of nursing in the delivery of the highest quality nursing care and patient safety. This role involves guiding the department of nursing to achieve and exceed quality outcomes and patient safety and Magnet benchmarks.
The Director works collaboratively with executive nursing leadership to integrate the Magnet Recognition Model throughout HSS, promoting a culture of excellence in all levels of nursing and patient care. The Director will demonstrate expertise on the Magnet Recognition Model and the principles of an evidence-based, professional practice environment to support the strategic goals of the patient care departments.
The Director collaborates with the Vice President of Quality and Performance Improvement to assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate hospital-wide nursing quality and performance improvement initiatives. The Director oversees the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to identify trends, outcomes, and areas for improvement, ensuring the alignment of quality improvement activities with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals, including Magnet benchmarks.

+ Participates as a representative of the Departments of Nursing at the Hospital Quality Coordinating Committee, Patient Safety Committee, and other hospital and medical board committees as applicable.
+ Supports the participation of staff in shared governance committees.
Excellence:
+ Assesses data and recommend change for improved practice to support quality outcomes in nursing care areas.
+ Participates in patient safety debriefs, reviews and evaluates, RCAs, and FMEAs with nursing leadership and the Quality and Accreditation team and implements corrective action plans to improve outcomes.
+ Prepares and reviews quarterly NDNQI clinical reports with staff, identifies indicators needing improvement, and develops strategies to improve such indicators.
+ Participates in The Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies survey preparation, including TJC standard readiness, policy, procedure, practice, and documentation.
+ Coordinates the preparation for nursing response to issues identified during local, state and federal surveys and TJC, surveys.
+ Demonstrates understanding and implications of nurse-sensitive quality and other clinical indicators and provides leadership to nurses at all levels in achieving positive outcomes.

+ Directs assessment of regulatory compliance for nursing and patient care services and ensures compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
+ Uses evidence-based methodology in analyzing data, evaluating outcomes, and driving excellence.

+ Provides interdisciplinary education and consultation to nursing leadership, staff, and the overall organization about the Magnet Recognition Model and the principles of a professional practice environment supportive of the nursing department's goals and strategic plan.

Qualifications
Required Criteria:
+ DNP or PHD preferred
+ Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing.
+ Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of New York or an approved compact state.
+ Five years of nursing leadership experience in a Magnet-recognized facility.
+ ANCC recognized certification.
+ Experience with writing an initial Magnet designation document or a re- designation Magnet document.
+ Experience with NDNQI data
Experience Required:
+ 5 + years clinical experience including a magnet facility
+ At least 2 years of experience leading a team to Magnet designation or re-designation
+ Experience with writing an initial designation document or a re-designation document

Pay Range - Minimum
USD $160,000.00/Yr.

USD $200,000.00/Yr.
