Department Name: Nursing Resource Team
The Nursing Resource Team (NRT) operates within the Professional Practice portfolio under the strategic leadership of the Director of Professional Practice. A Manager provides the day-to-day leadership and direction for the team along with a dedicated Clinical Educator. The NRT is a staffing team made up of registered practical nurses whose shifts are assigned to clinical areas to meet appropriate staffing requirements. NRT nurses respond to needs based on patient acuity, replacement of sick time, vacation relief, known vacancies, etc. Nurses are aligned to multiple units also referred to as clusters of units based on their interest, expertise and learning needs. The clusters are based on specialty and common competencies and skill sets. Members of the NRT have the opportunity to work on a variety of clinical areas, and experience a variety of learning opportunities in a supportive environment. Nurses in the NRT are provided with a comprehensive orientation and competency development program.
