Job Title: Casual Clinical Instructors for Practical Nurse and Bachelor of Nursing Programs

About The Position
Preparation, supervision, evaluation of approximately 8 students in a group with support from the Practice Coordinator
Participate in the off-campus clinical placements
Seek excellence in teaching by applying and evaluating various teaching strategies
Encourage and foster an environment of inquiry and valuing of evidence-informed practice
Evaluate students in clinical practice and provide feedback on written assignments
Attend scheduled team meetings
Participate as a member of a larger faculty team in the development and implementation of effective teaching strategies and initiatives
Travel may be required to clinical settings
Position Details
Required Qualifications
LPN and/or RN designation, a minimum of a degree in nursing is required to teach within the BN Program
Current registration with the CLPNA or CARNA
Demonstrate a strong knowledge base and safe, competent practice
Minimum 3 years current clinical experience in medical/surgery/long-term care settings or minimum 3 years current experience in maternity or pediatrics
Ability to work effectively and autonomously within small groups
Capable of performing physical duties such as patient transfers and lifts
Recent clinical supervision/preceptorship of students and/or teaching experience is an asset

Salary Commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the current Faculty Collective Agreement
