Tecumseh Family Dental is currently hiring a Dental Receptionist to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. The Dental Receptionist will work amongst our interdisciplinary team to provide the utmost patient experience.

Tasks
- Schedule and confirm patients dental consultations, examinations, and surgery appointments
- Greet visitors and direct them to appropriate staff
- Explain technical and medical information to patients and provide pre/post op instructions prescribed by the dentist
- Collaborate with dentist to develop treatment plans. Record treatment plan and coordinate with dental assistants to ensure lab parts and materials are present for scheduled appointment
- Receive and input patient information into ClearDent software
- Transmit correspondence or dental records by mail, e-mail, or fax
- Perform various clerical or administrative functions such as ordering and monitoring dental supplies and equipment inventory
- Process dental billing information, receive payment, manage AR, prepare and send financial information, keep financial records and complete insurance forms
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail is a must
- Self-starter with excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work with computers and to learn how to use new software
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations for dental clinics
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Products
- Knowledge of the ClearDent software is considered an asset
- Dental knowledge and terminology
Qualifications and Experience
- 3-5 years of dental administrative experience required
- Experience working at general dental practice is considered an asset
- Dental hygienist or Dental Assistant licensure is considered an asset
- Certification of dental administration or Treatment Coordinating is considered an asset
