About The Opportunity

The Physiotherapist reports to the Program Manager the Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses and treats patients in a tertiary care setting who present with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations or disabilities. Physiotherapy assessment involves obtaining a detailed medical history, performing specific and standardized tests and evaluation procedures to determine a physical diagnosis. Holistic treatment programs are developed using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical and hydrotherapy techniques to assist the patient in regaining and/or maintaining an optimal level of function. The physiotherapist educates and communicates with other health disciplines, the general public, family members and caregivers with regard to health promotion, physiotherapy treatment and patient management.
About You

Hours
14-18 month long assignment, full-time (over-core) positions
One (1) permanent, full-time (over-core) position available South Shore Regional Hospital
One (1) permanent, full-time (over-core position available at Yarmouth Regional Hospital
Following your Residency, you will either be placed into open unfilled positions within Rehabilitation Services, or you can apply for advertised positions throughout Nova Scotia Health
Compensation And Incentives
$33.97 Hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. Successful candidates going into a residency placement outside of Central Zone will receive a signing bonus of $5000 with a defined Return of Service contract
