Overall Purpose
To be responsible for the delivery of professional and effective medical supervision services for all clients of International SOS to the highest standards of excellence in conjunction with the Medical Director, coordinating doctors and nurses.
Being among the first group of the Canadian Response Center, you will help build a Response Center (RC) for International SOS in the Leduc office as a Nurse Practitioner.
This RC which will help cater to providing supervisory services across our MedSites in Canada, and deliver quality Medical Care to our clients, and their respective employees. Further, as a leader in the medical team of International SOS Canada, you will lead by example and contribute to the pioneering image of International SOS in the domain. You will also contribute to orientation and training of new employees being deployed to sites.

MEDICAL SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibility for medical due diligence and case direction with respect to designated medical supervision cases on all transmissions.
- Assess each designated case with respect to its medical elements and provide direction in order to facilitate medical due diligence and render the appropriate supervision.
- Responsibility for ensuring that there is an appropriate medical handover of cases at the beginning/ end of each shift.
- Help determine the medical frequency/intensity of medical contacts with treating Doctors, Clients, patients and their family members as appropriate.
MEDICAL LIASON AND REPORTING
- Collect relevant medical information to produce focused professional medical reports that effectively communicated medical information to all types of clients.
- Professionally communicate verbally and/or in writing to the relevant parties/clients of the progress of the patient’s condition.
- Discuss appropriate medical management and dispositional recommendations.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Support Medical Director in Quality Control of Medical Cases being delivered at MedSites in Canada.
- Conduct intermittent MedSite surveys and audits on our MedSites across Canada.
- Conducts random (virtual) case note reviews for medsites.
TRAINING
- Under the supervision of Medical Director, organize and lead training of Health Care Professionals on MedSites with new processes, and/or systems.
- Make a positive impact and significant contribution in onboarding of field Health Care Professionals going to industrial sites early in their career.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Work within and promote all Intl. SOS policies and procedures.
- Take an active role in interviewing new medical candidates.
- Carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the Medical Director and, or Direct Manager.
Required Skills And Knowledge
- Proficiency in Word, typing, computer and communication skills.
- OSHA/IADC case management and recordability knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- British Columbia NP License - Strongly preferred.
- Alberta NP License – Strongly preferred as additional license.
Required Work Experience
- Five years of recent inpatient clinical experience.
- 2 years Industrial Health Care experience.
Required Languages
Fluency in English required. Bilingual capability in French or other languages preferred.
Travel / Rotation Requirements
- Limited travel to site may be required.
- Rotation of shifts is based on the needs of the Response center.
- There may be night or weekend shifts required, which will be communicated in advance based on business needs.
To start, shift expectations will be 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. This may change in the future. Overtime eligible as per regulatory standards.
