Summer Locum Opportunity at a FHO-FHT MD-NP team Practice

A solo FHO-FHT physician working with a team including a full-time NP located in southwest downtown Hamilton (near St. Josephs Hospital) is seeking a locum to provide part-time coverage during the Summer/Fall of 2024. The ideal candidate will be available for 3 days per week, and the practice is open to taking on a locum for 3-8 weeks between mid-July to mid-September 2024. An ongoing opportunity may also be available if interested.

With a roster of approximately 2,000 patients, the locum physician can expect to have approximately 20 patient encounters per day. The team typically sees patients both on-site and virtually from Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 4 pm, and Fridays from 9 am to 3 pm, with 1 hour for lunch plus additional time for administrative tasks each day.

The practice is supported by 2 experienced receptionists/medical office assistants, and patient records are managed through CIS/P & P EMR.

The clinical team of allied health care professionals includes a strong full scope Nurse Practitioner (5 days per week), a social worker (1.5 days per week), a registered nurse providing diabetes care and injections (1 day per week), a respiratory educator (1 day per month), a clinical pharmacist (one day alternate weeks), and an off-site dietitian.

The practice is located in an accessible medical building with a coffee shop and several other HFHT physicians. The practice space includes a private office, 3 exam rooms, a lunchroom/kitchen, and separate staff and patient washrooms. Parking is provided on site for the locum, and the practice is located next to many restaurants and shops.
