An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse to support the leadership of the nursing team within Tarvit Ward Adamson Hospital. As a Charge Nurse you will support the Senior Charge Nurse by being committed to continuous professional development. You are expected to have a passion for care and medicine of the older adult with a focus on rehabilitation, recovery, and adaptation. Experience in delivering a high level of person-centered care and knowledge of complex discharge planning are required. This role involves contributing to the improvement of a health and safety culture to prevent and reduce risks in the delivery of care to our patients. Interpersonal skills, I.T, and communication skills at different levels are essential for this post. The ability to manage complex situations is also required. You must demonstrate strong managerial, motivational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
The main roles of the post will be to take charge of the ward on a regular basis and act up in the absence of the ward manager. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will provide a positive clinical lead for junior staff, work collaboratively with other charge nurses, and deputize in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse. This post offers dynamic challenges with a primary focus on developing own leadership qualities and management of the clinical area on a daily basis.
Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part-time hours. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
For informal enquiries, in the first instance, please contact Senior Charge Nurse Helen Caithness on 01334 651255.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which you would be paid, until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Hiring Manager.
