Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) - East York

Shifts:

Monday-Friday 2300-0700.

Note: Must have received the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine or combination of COVID-19 vaccines approved by Health Canada (e.g., two doses of a two-dose vaccine series or one dose of a single-dose vaccine series); AND have received the final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to the official start date of hire.

As a Pediatric Registered Nurse with WeeCare, your role is about more than just supporting the medical needs of clients; it’s also about providing peace and comfort in their homes. While you are expected to administer medical care according to the client’s care plan, we also expect you to serve as a trustworthy extension of the client’s family.

Duties:

• Administer and document medications as prescribed
• Monitor and maintain the safekeeping of drugs and narcotics
• Maintain child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report on changes in child’s condition to parent/guardian
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring, and adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of child’s needs and maximize abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child/parent/guardian
• Respond to child/parent/guardian concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify supervisor of any concerns impacting child’s safety
• Complete all other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Licensed and in good standing with the CNO
• Experience working with pediatrics
• Current BLS certification
• Vulnerable Sector check within the past 12 months
• Professional liability insurance
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
Night shift
8-hour shift

Experience:

Nasopharyngeal Suctioning: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

Covid-19 vaccination (required)
