Registered Practical Nurse

Credit Valley Family Practise is looking for a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to care for patients in a family medicine office setting, alongside 2-3 doctors. The ideal candidate will be able to undertake a variety of duties with attention to detail and will experience fast-paced environment with lots of change. It is essential that the RPN have first-hand knowledge of nursing principles and practices. The goal is to promote patients well-being by providing excellent and reliable care.

This is an family medicine office.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Administer vaccine to ALL ages including newborns
• draw and administer vaccines
• Comfortable with the vaccine dosing schedule
• new born visits
• suture or staple removal
• prenatal care
• newborn weight checks
• b12 shots
• Assess and take vitals
• strep swabs
• ear syringing
• Clean and stock up rooms patients needs
• Maintain accurate records and observations
• Assist with other basic medical procedures
• Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
• Communicate with family members and friendsr egularly
• Be able to take calls regarding nursing needs
• respond to patient concerns and educate patients as per physicians directives
• Communicate test results to patients as directed by physicians

Skills

• Proven experience as nurse in a long-term care setting or as nurse in a nursing home or as registered nurse/RN.
• Knowledge of health and nursing principles
• Excellent communication skills
• Friendly and compassionate
• Ability to undertake a variety of duties under pressure and at different times in a fast-paced environment
• Fast learner

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
Benefits: Paid time off according to Employment Standard's Act

Education: Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience: Nursing: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification: First Aid Certification (preferred), LPN/RPN (required), Nursing (required), CPR Certification (preferred), vulnerable sector police check

Shift availability: Day Shift (required)
