A Brief Overview:
NorthShore’s Gynecologic Oncology program provides a full spectrum of care for women with a variety of cancers. A multidisciplinary team of physicians oversees the continuum of care for each patient, which may include genetic counseling and screening and medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery.
Our Gynecologic Oncologists have received national recognition for both academics as well as quality of clinical care. The Gynecologic Oncology Division is active in basic and clinical research, and oversees both in-house and cooperative group clinical trials. The Division is currently comprised of four full time Gynecologic Oncologists, one part-time Gynecologic Oncologist who is spearheading the Survivorship Program, as well as an Advanced Practice Provider, Nurse Navigator and several Collaborative Practice Nurses. The majority of the clinical activity is at Evanston Hospital, with clinical outreach at several of the nearby satellite hospitals within the HealthSystem.
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology jointly developed and manages a Gyn/Onc Fellowship Program with the University of Chicago. Gynecologic Oncology Fellows undergo 50% of their clinical training at NorthShore and, additionally, a number have spent their research year in the Federally Funded ovarian cancer research lab at NorthShore
