Providence Health is seeking family physicians to care for residents at Brock Fahrni Pavilion.

Brock Fahrni is a 130 bed LTC facility located next to BC Women's and Children's Hospitals. The facility is well supported by nursing, clinical pharmacist, OT, PT, social work, dietician, spiritual health, music therapy, and art therapy. We have access to a geriatric psychiatrist and palliative care team who attend in-person weekly for consults and follow-ups. Physiatry and geriatric medicine can also provide on-site consults as needed. 

Time requirement is one half-day weekly (for a panel of 20-25 residents), plus availability by phone during weekday hours, and participation in the after-hours call group, which is paid.

Remuneration: for LFP-eligible physicians, LTC will be included beginning in June/July 2024. For non-LFP physicians, remuneration is a combination of sessional, fee-for-service and LTCI incentive payments.

There are opportunities for teaching and QI projects if interested.

Once weekly in-person rounding at the facility. Maintaining good communication with the interdisciplnary team and family members. Availability by phone for any urgent issues that arise between visits.

Active BC license. CCFP designation. Eligibility to apply for privileges at Providence Health. Experience in Long Term Care is an asset.
