Western Maine Surgery, a department of Stephens Memorial Hospital, is currently seeking a BC/BE general surgeon to join their busy and dynamic group of three general surgeons in their hospital-employed practice located in Norway, Maine. This is a unique and interesting position that will provide flexible scheduling and reasonable call expectations in a rural environment. This is a true rural general surgery practice managing wide range of general surgery conditions including endoscopy. The ideal candidate will work as a full time surgeon though part time position will be considered for the right candidate.
Stephens Memorial Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital, is a proud member of MaineHealth, the premier healthcare system in Maine, and is nationally renowned for its innovative programs in rural healthcare. The hospital has a full complement of imaging services, 3 operating rooms, a separate endoscopy and minor procedure suite, recently renovated office clinic space, and is supported by a physician and CRNAs anesthesia team. This position offers teaching opportunities of medical students and other learners, as Stephens Memorial Hospital is one of the teaching sites for the Maine Medical Center – Tufts University Medical School program.
