Hello! Dr. Nadia Stymiest here. I am looking for you, one of my esteemed peers, to join me in serving the communities of Nanaimo and Ladysmith at my two modern dental practices as a Dental Associate. You’ll be joining a team of five dentists across two locations who are equally motivated to provide exceptional, accessible dental care to smiles of all ages. Since founding Ladysmith Smiles in September 2021, I have cultivated a team of passionate and kind dental professionals that strive to make others smile daily. Since opening my second practice, Nanaimo Smiles, in January 2022, our team has grown and looks to find the right people to help us maintain that same practice culture. What you’ll be doing:

• Perform routine dental examinations and oral evaluations, diagnose dental conditions, and develop treatment plans.
• Carry out dental procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canals, and dental cleanings with precision and care.
• Administer local anesthetics and prescribe appropriate medications.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Collaborate with a team of dental professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and treatment coordination.
• Maintain detailed patient records in accordance with established protocols.
• Stay updated on advancements in dental techniques, equipment, and best practices.

In order to be considered, you have:

• Graduated from an accredited dental school.
• Valid license to practice dentistry in British Columbia.
• Proficient in performing dental procedures with high accuracy and efficiency.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to quality patient care and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Experience with digital dental technology, electronic dental records, and dental imaging systems would be an asset.

Nice-To-Haves:

• Experience with nitrous oxide is an asset.
• Familiarity with dental practice management software is preferred.
• Specialization in a specific area of dentistry (e.g., orthodontics, endodontics, periodontics) would be a plus.
• Comfortable treating children.
• Clear aligner therapy experience is considered an asset.
• Experience in Endodontics, Implant placement, and Oral surgery is desirable.
• Three years or more of experience would be advantageous.
