About the Facility:
The Health Centre has 2 family physicians in private practice who see patients by appointment. One of the physicians takes obstetric referrals for those who choose to receive prenatal care in their own community.
The Clinic is a facility can house three family physicians with two exam rooms and one office for each physician. There are presently two other Family Physicians in private practice at the Health Centre who see patients by appointment. The practice opportunity is to replace a third physician.
At least one nurse and one secretary are always on sight during hours of operation. (Two nurses, four clerical staff during peak hours). Nurses see patients from the community for wound care and other nursing issues and offer support to physicians. Other health care services available on a monthly basis at the Health Centre include a Dietician, One-at-a-Time counselling therapy, and a Diabetes Nurse Educator. Phlebotomy is available on site daily.
There is a fully equipped procedures room for minor surgical procedures.
About the Community:
It is a small community with a big heart located along the Petitcodiac River from which it takes its name. We are a self-contained community with a full range of services from health care to education, recreational facilities and a downtown retail area. From the quietness of the downtown park gazebo to the packed attendance at the Westmorland County Fair, to the screams of laughter in the outdoor pool, and the rivalry of hockey teams at the arena; the feeling of community surrounds you.
While the municipality and its elected endeavor to provide a broad range of opportunities and services to all, it is really the pride of our residents that makes our community great. That can be seen by the many volunteers and volunteer organizations that provide much of the framework that sustains our community. The location of Petitcodiac on the corridor between the cities of Moncton and Saint John places it in an ideal location for continued growth.
