Psychiatrist for Shared Care Division, Dept of Psychiatry in Kingston

The Shared Care Division, Department of Psychiatry in Kingston, Ontario, is seeking experienced Psychiatrists to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues in primary care within Family Health Teams (FHT). This role involves providing psychiatric consultations, collaborative support, and timely consultations under the care of FHT physicians.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide psychiatric consultations to primary care physicians working in the community, mainly in large practices and family health teams.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support patient management and care.
• Deliver timely and effective consultations to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in capacity building and collaborative efforts within FHTs and large practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess experience in clinical psychiatry and strong interest in teaching.
• Qualified applicants will hold an MD degree (or equivalent), eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
• Preference will be given to applicants who have specialty certification from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Specialties.

COMPENSATION

Between $330,000-$420,000 Alternative Funding Model. 10-20% academic scheduling in research and training protected. 6 weeks of vacation + 2 weeks for educational activities (CMEs), comprehensive administrative support, relocation bonus, and annual bonus. Opportunity to receive additional (out-of-scope) income through Hospital On-Call services and other clinical and academic endeavours.
