Anatomic or General Pathologist, with Cytopathology Fellowship
Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) North Sector, in partnership with the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a qualified full-time Anatomic or General Pathologist with expertise in Cytopathology.
This position will join a group of general and anatomical pathologists, medical microbiologists, and clinical chemists providing laboratory services at our Edmonton Base Hub Lab (EDMBL). The successful candidate is required to have excellent skills in both surgical pathology and Cytopathology.
Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alberta Health Services (AHS). APL is the sole provider of lab services in the province of Alberta. Job Summary & Responsibilities
The General or Anatomical Pathologist must maintain the highest possible standards of practice including prompt delivery of services to match established key performance indicators and provincial metrics, must actively participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include a MD, eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta with certification in Anatomic Pathology, Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology, or General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Pathology. Cytopathology Fellowship training and/or years of experience in cytopathology specialty practice and a proven track record of collegiality and collaborative practice is required. The ability to contribute collegially to the group practice and laboratory operations will be an important factor in candidate selection. The successful incumbent will also be required to obtain the appropriate professional liability coverage.
