Salem Manor Nursing Home, in partnership with Alberta Health Services are inviting applications from Family Physicians to join the Department of Family Medicine in the Edmonton Zone as an attending physician at Salem Manor.
Salem Manor Nursing Home located in Leduc is looking for up to 2 physicians to join a multidisciplinary team to provide care to a small panel of patients. Each physician will commit to one half day per week to provide patient rounds to 18 existing patients (scheduling will be flexible to accommodate physician availability). In addition, the physicians can take on any new patient referrals as well as provide care to any of their own patients should they move to Salem Manor.
There is a nurse practitioner on site who provides weekday and after hours support to patients. An arrangement is in place with the Leduc Community Hospital where inpatient and emergency physicians provide after-hours care overnight and on weekends.

Successful Candidates will have a functional knowledge of resources and challenges in Alberta’s primary health care system. This knowledge will be supported by the candidate having completed a two year Family Medicine Residency and by ongoing community primary care experience.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have superior interpersonal skills with a demonstrated commitment to teamwork and peer relationships. The successful candidate should be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of Family Medicine.
The successful candidate must currently be certified with the College of Family Physicians of Canada and have medical licensure in the province of Alberta. This position is NOT eligible for AHS sponsorship of a College of Physicians and Surgeons Practice Readiness Assessment.
