Reporting to the Chief Physician Advisor, the Physician Advisor (PA) is a key member of St. Luke's leadership team and is charged with meeting the organization's goals and objectives for assuring the effective, efficient utilization of health care services. The PA serves the health system through teaching, consulting, and advising the care management, utilization review and clinical documentation departments and hospital leadership on matters regarding physician practice patterns, over- and under-utilization of resources, medical necessity, levels of care, care progression, denial management, compliance with governmental and private payer regulations, appropriate physician coding and documentation requirements.
What You Can Expect:
Position is part-time, .5 FTE, allowing for the option to add clinical hours up to 1.0 FTE, if desired.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of Medicine or Osteopathy and successful completion of an accredited residency program.
3 years' clinical practice to include demonstrated progressive leadership roles within healthcare organization(s).
Current, unrestricted medical license in state of practice.
