The Clinton Family Health Team is recruiting a locum to support a parental leave. The term would be for six (6) months starting July 1, 2024 to January 31, 2025. For physicians that may prefer a shorter locum duration, this could be arranged. The practice is a well managed patient roster of approximately 900 and requires clinic coverage 2.5 days per week. The clinic is shared with 5 other physician colleagues in addition to team members including NPs, RNs, RPNs, Pharmacists, a social worker, mental health worker and dietician. Clinton Public Hospital:
For interested physicians, there is also opportunity to participate in hospitalist and/or emergency work at Clinton Public Hospital (CPH). CPH is a 22 bed well equipped hospital. The ER is open daytime hours in addition the hospital has an active surgical program, and on-site specialty clinics in Internal Medicine, and Paediatrics. There is excellent specialty support available through colleagues at Stratford General Hospital, approximately 45 mins away. CPH is part of the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance that also includes Seaforth Community, St Marys Memorial and Stratford General Hospitals.
CPH is conveniently located across the street from the clinic. Local accommodation can be arranged.
Our Community:
Clinton (the municipality of Central Huron) is located along Ontario's West Coast. The community is moments from live theatre, great shopping, warm sandy beaches and spectacular sunsets. Many major centres are within easy driving distance, yet living in Clinton and area one can enjoy a warm, small town atmosphere with steady residential growth and a strong agricultural climate. Clinton is located an hour North of London, an hour West of Waterloo and 15 mins East of Goderich & the shores of Lake Huron.
Schedule and Compensation:
The office is open Mon-Fri 9-5. There is flexibility within the physician schedules. There are no after hour or weekend clinic on-call requirements. Payment would include a mix of Rural Family Medicine Locum Program days (until they are all used) and then $1000/day thereafter. Locums would also receive all shadow billing and 100% third party billing.
Physicians work 24 hours in the ED and are compensated via an AFA from 0800-2200 and a stipend from 2200-0800. Shadow billings are also paid directly to the physician. Patient volumes are approximately 25-35 during the operational hours of the ED. Hospitalist work is compensated at $1200/day with no on call requirements.
