Full Time and Part Time Opportunities
Overview:
This Level 2 regional referral centre serves a population of over 170,000 residents, offering a full range of specialty services through the Departments of Anaesthesia, Medical Imaging, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Oncology, Hospitalist Medicine, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Pathology, Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Surgery (ENT, General/Thoracic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Urology).
Another five hospitals located within the region also refer to their specialists.
Service Delivery:
The Department of Medicine is looking to grow its complement of full-time and part-time physicians across various specialties. They are exploring cross appointment opportunities with related Departments such as Pathology (Laboratory Medicine), Hospitalist Medicine and Medical Imaging, in support of future clinical program planning.
Hospital duties include Emergency Department consultations, service to the acute inpatient units including participation in the Department of Medicine on-call service, MRP and consulting care. Service opportunities with their Stroke Prevention Clinic and Cardiac Rehab Program are also available.
Facilities:
With 24-hour labs, excellent specialty back-up and comprehensive diagnostic imaging (CT, MRI, PACS capability), this regional centre is exceptionally well equipped.
Current sub-specialty opportunities include: Cardiology, Endocrinology, Hematology, Geriatrics, Neurology, Respirology and Critical Care. Specialists in Infectious Disease and Rheumatology are also encouraged to contact us to discuss local opportunities as well.
Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with applicable FRCPC designation and an independent license to practice in Ontario or US Board certified physicians who are now also eligible for a full independent license in Ontario. Qualified training from other jurisdictions will also be considered for CPSO supervisory licensure.
US Board Certified Physician are eligible for independent license in Ontario
In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
Candidates must be fully vaccinated prior to starting work and receipt of Covid-19 vaccination required upon hire.
Compensation:
Ministry of Health On-Call Coverage (HOCC) Program and Fee-for-Service Billings. Daily/weekly critical care stipend.
Other Support:
