Experience: 5 years or greater in Family Medicine and current Emergency Department Experience Full Job Description: Edson Medical Centre is a fast-paced, multi-physician family practice and walk-in clinic. We are committed to promoting, maintaining, and enhancing the quality of life and health of our patients. Our clinic is located in the rural town of Edson Alberta. Our current operating hours are Monday to Thursday 0900 to 1700, Friday 0900 to 1600; we are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Our support staff includes Registered Nurses, a Referral Coordinator, and office/clinic management. We also have the services of a Primary Care Network Complex Care RN, Obstetric RN and Social Worker. Our clinic offers a full range of family practice services including pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric medicine, IUD and Nexplanon placement/removal, obstetrical care, women’s health, lumps and bumps and office-based procedures. Our EMR is Microquest (HealthQuest) and our Primary Care Network is McLeod River Primary Care Network. We are looking to add a full time physician to our busy clinic, with expectation that a successful candidate Physician will apply for hospital privileges and contribute to Rural ER shift schedule, rural inpatient care and long term care patients. Required Competencies • A successful candidate will hold valid and relevant license or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta • Recent experience (within the last 12 months) of independent Family Medicine practice where the physician has been the most responsible physician for a wide range of Family Medicine patients • Applicant must also be able to provide proof of participation in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs • Emergency on-call experience (within last 24 months) • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Desired Competencies • Certificate of the College of Family Physicians (CCFP) - Emergency Medicine • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Key responsibilities in the clinic would include thorough medical assessments and examinations; determine and recommend treatment and investigations as required; provide education to patients on the nature of their specific medical condition; and make appropriate recommendations for investigative and treatment interventions. Qualified candidates are required to be licensed to practice in the Province of Alberta; and be in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta • College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP) • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. Job Type: Full-time: 50 weeks a year, 30-60 hours per week Salary: Fee for Service Physician (no guaranteed minimum wage and overhead requirement will be discussed with suitable candidate). COVID-19 considerations: Edson Medical Centre requires staff and patients to adhere to hand-sanitizing practices and Physicians are encouraged to wear a mask while in our facility.
