POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Join our client in Miramichi, New Brunswick! They are seeking a compassionate and skilled Primary Care Physician to enrich the lives of the residents of Rogersville and its surrounding communities.
At their health center, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute significantly to a community where your work will directly and positively impact the lives of many. You will be joining forces with our existing full-time physician.
The facility operates with the support of dedicated staff, including registered nurses, phlebotomists, and administrative personnel.
The Centre has championed initiatives focusing on wellness, physical activity, healthy eating, and smoke-free living in recent years. We pride ourselves on a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to healthcare, offering services such as Addiction and Mental Health, Public Health, Dietary Consultation, Smoking Cessation, Speech Therapy, Lab Services, Extra Mural Programs, Diabetic Case Management, and Diabetic Clinics.

Reporting Relationship
The physician reports to the Chief of the Department of Family Medicine or designates for all clinical, quality of care and patient care-related issues and to the Medical Director for contractual and administrative management issues (as applicable).

Job Duties:
· Perform clinical duties including, but not restricted to, seeing and assessing both scheduled and unscheduled patients for routine health and illness care, prescribing treatment, arranging consults, referring to other healthcare professionals as required, and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
· Teaching responsibilities for family medicine residents and medical students.
· Teaching responsibilities for nursing and peers as appropriate.
· Attend regularly scheduled departmental meetings.
· Participate in departmental and other appropriate committees.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address staff and patient education needs.
· Practice collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and consult with members of other health professions as appropriate.
· Participate in using departmental and corporate evidence-based rules of practice to ensure that expected standards of care are achieved.
· Participate in medical practice that is compatible with the Health Authority’s mission, values and strategic directions.
· Within the confines of this scope of practice and position description, provide other duties that may arise by circumstance and may be assigned by the Chief of the Department of Family Medicine, the Chief of Staff, Medical Director and/or Vice President of Medical Affairs.
Hours of Work:
Hours of work are normally provided between 0830hrs – 1630hrs Monday to Friday, unless otherwise agreed upon by the Service/Department Head.
After-hours and weekend call coverage in coordination with members of the Department.
Remuneration:
Fee for Service
Standard remuneration is Fee-for-Service which is a direct compensation between the physician and Medicare of New Brunswick. On call remuneration is provided. No source deductions can be provided. Option for Salary with Departmental approval.
Qualifications:
· Must hold a valid license to practice medicine in the Province of New Brunswick.
· Must be a member in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick.
· Must have current malpractice insurance from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) or equivalent appropriate to the practice category.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-building skills.
· Good attendance and work record.
· Physically able to perform assigned duties.

The Hospital is a 161-bed hospital with a full range of primary care and specialty services, including: family medicine, general and orthopedic surgery, internal medicine and intensive care, psychiatry, urology, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, pediatrics, anesthesia, radiology, and pathology.
