Hours of work: approx. 30/70 split per pay period; 12 hour shifts

Position Objective
Working to promote excellence, quality patient/client-centered care and high professional standards, the Physiotherapist will be responsible for the provision and delivery of quality Physiotherapy Services. The objective of the Physiotherapist is to provide safe and competent care through the application of professional knowledge, the technical aspects of professional practice and the demonstration of compassion, professionalism and respect.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Bachelors Degree in Physiotherapy
- Applies knowledge, skills, judgment and competencies required for safe, independent and interprofessional practice by meeting professional practice standards as outlined by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Experience working in fast paced, acute care hospital setting
- Applies NH values and professional practice standards to patient/client centred care and service
- Demonstrated commitment to patient/client centred care
- Demonstrated ability to perform assessments, develop quality patient/client programming, and facilitate patient discharges
- Demonstrated ability to support, explain, and instruct patients and their families in understanding the clinical procedures to facilitate optimum health status
- Evidence of effective organizational, interpersonal, communication, judgment and decision-making skills
- Integrates reflection, critical thinking, education and relevant practical experience in problem solving
- Evidence of accurate and timely documentation according to best practice guidelines
- Must be able to bend, reach, lift and transfer patients on a frequent basis throughout the day
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within an inter-disciplinary team
- Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Programs
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an asset
- Consistent and regular attendance required
Note: Full vaccination in accordance with Niagara Health's Vaccination Policy is a requirement of the job.
