A Brief Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic physician in internal medicine to join the Neaman Center for Personalized Medicine (NCPM). The successful candidate will develop specialization in High Risk Cancer Genetics with the support of NCPM. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the identification, evaluation, and management of patients at increased risk of hereditary cancer syndromes. Collaborating closely with geneticists, oncologists, genetic counselors, and other healthcare professionals, you will provide comprehensive care to patients with a strong family history of cancer or genetic predispositions. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding patients through genetic testing, interpreting results, and devising personalized risk reduction and surveillance strategies. Additionally, you will contribute to ongoing research initiatives aimed at advancing our understanding of hereditary cancer syndromes and improving patient outcomes.
What you will do:
- Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations of patients with suspected hereditary cancer syndromes.
- Order and interpret genetic tests to assess patients' risk of developing cancer.
- Develop individualized risk assessment and management plans based on genetic findings and family history.
- Provide genetic counseling and education to patients and their families regarding hereditary cancer risks and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including oncologists, surgeons, and genetic counselors.
- Participate in research activities, including clinical trials and data analysis, to advance knowledge in the field of cancer genetics.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in cancer genetics research and incorporate evidence-based practices into clinical care.

What you will need:
- MD/DO Medicine Required
- Illinois Medical license or pending
- Controlled Substance/DEA License or pending
