As a manager in this role, you will oversee the operations of the TeleBehavioral Health Transfer Team and the Crisis Intake Therapists. The Crisis Intake Therapists provide social worker level crisis assessments for ED and Inpatient patients through telehealth technology. Your duties will include managing team operations, staffing, and planning for program growth and expansion. This is a full-time position that runs from Monday to Friday, with some on-call responsibilities. This role REQUIRES 3-5 years of Progressive Leadership Experience. The position is exempt, and it is located in a clinic within the premises of Banner Behavioral Health Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ. Banner Health leverages telehealth technology to improve patient care and support the rapid changes within the health care environment. Regardless of patient location, The Banner telehealth team responds to requests for help from bedside care teams, monitors for adverse trends and intervenes before adverse trends become adverse outcomes, monitors and supports "best practice" compliance and measures clinical outcomes.POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides managerial and operational oversight of clinical departments. Develops, implements, and supports changes in process that support quality improvement, excellent patient care, and financial responsibility.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides team leadership in the delivery of coordinated, integrated patient throughput and care through the development and improvement of management and delivery systems. Ensures care is provided in a fiscally responsible manner through process improvement. Assures care is coordinated through collaboration of multiple disciplines and assures all processes are followed.
2. Utilizes financial management through appropriate fiscal monitoring of resources, equipment and supplies. Identifies staffing levels needed to provide safe, quality patient care. Adjusts staffing to meet changing workload projections and productivity targets.
3. Develops budget, ensures that targets are met, and analyzes budget variances.
4. Serves as a professional resource to patients, families, physicians, and staff by interpreting policies and facilitating care. Provides departmental leadership by demonstrating effective communication skills, problem solving, and proactive conflict resolution to internal and external customers in escalated situations.
5. Serves as a role model to improve and mentor behaviors that enhance employee and patient satisfaction. Aligns care delivery with service expectations to facilitate patient and employee satisfaction and retention.
6. Hires, leads, mentors, develops, and evaluates staff in a manner that promotes engagement, productivity, and ensures competencies. Mentors staff to increase clinical skills, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Conducts individual and team goal setting, performance planning and evaluation.
7. Facilitates change and participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of goals, objectives, and quality management activities. Seeks and utilizes input from staff affected by change and assists them through transitional phases and processes.
8. This position makes decisions that facilitate smooth coordination of care to ensure patient care needs are met while maintaining quality standards in a financially responsible manner. Performs independently. Assures efficient operations to meet customer needs. Internal customers include physicians, staff, and management. External customers include patients, families, and surrounding community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of clinical care and operations as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing, business, health care or related field.
Requires clinical licensure applicable to area of practice.
